Do you have any clue why the snaps were filled in after filiming? I've always wondered this. I'm thinking they took the snaps off at one point and then quickly glued them back on (maybe gorilla glue, which expands)?<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndI can't say anyone knows for sure, but they had to deliberately be taken off at some point. Snaps don't just fall off. Plus, ALL of them were taken off and it was completely re-strapped. The part 3 HERO was the mask used for the Final Chapter ad art and the opening "explosion" scene, not this version. My theory/opinion is . . . the straps/snaps were taken off during or just before the production of part 5 in an attempt to copy the mask for production purposes. If you look closely, there are 3 different styles of masks in part 5. The blue Roy versions and the opening muddy scene appear to be the same style (shape) mask. Then of course the Final Chapter Hero mask in Tommy's mirror and the hospital room. And finally, the Barnyard hallucination where Jason is holding the ax looking up at Tommy in the window. That mask is neither the Final Chapter Hero mask nor the style David Miller produced for the Roy/Muddy mask. It could be A.) one of the blanks Doug White sent to David Miller to use from the original part 3 mold or B.) a mask pulled from the copy of the Final Chapter mask . . . assuming that's why the straps/snaps were removed. Who knows though, but that particular mask seems to have that warpy left upper edge to it, like we are used to seeing today. All my opinion of course, but this isn't really the place to discuss it. I'm guessing no one will know for sure.Damn fine Hockey Mask Chad. I'm gonna call you later.
