Magnificent Void, I would say your best initial route would be a good silicone mold. This way, if anything should happen to your sculpt, you have a flexible mold to do a clay pour cast that you can do other types of molds from. Also, depending on the type of silicone, you can do both silicone and resin casts from the mold.
