it's not perfectly smooth but what I do is using a home made tool rake the surface over to soften all the edges and then use a 1" cheap brissle brush and baby powder spray it on the clay and then brush it off, work brilliant mateif you need a real smooth clean finish then you need to go into wetting the clay down with a thinner
