I personally don't care much for signatures, especially if they are in very visible spots.

It should not decrease the value. On a high end piece it is classy to have the inside signed like the way Justin signs his masks. If it was my mask/bust I would only have it signed on the inside or the back of the neck so that it is not the focal point of the piece.

Ok this is what I'm wondering, if I buy a Don Post Myers masks and I get actors to sign it ie Deag, Danielle, Scout, Dick Warlock, Don Shanks ect will it incress the value ? Not addresed to me. But doesn't rubbing oil or something take of the signutre ? And I'd buy a mask signed even if it had someone elses name on it but that's just me

Rubbing alcohol or hairspray can remove sharpie ink from just about anything.Be careful when using this method as I am not quite sure if it would cause the latex to rot quicker if the alcohol residue is not fully removed.

I think it's down to a couple of factorsIf your gonna be wearing the mask then why would you want it signed anywhere as it will most likely get rubber off at some point so you've then wasted what ever money you spent getting it signed. If it's just for display then I can't see why it would ever decrease the value of the mask/bust where ever it is signed the thing to make sure of is that it does not make it unsightly or off putting to other if you was ever going to sell it on, choose the back of the neck or the front of the lower neck <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" />

I'm with "the beast," on this one in that I too care not for signatures on my props. I especially would not like to own a glove and have the backplate signed, or have a mask with a signature on the outside, thats no good for me. Its preference and what we as individual collectors like I guess. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" />

I feel a display mask can be signed on the outside in such a way that it does not take away from the look at all. I had Robert Englund sign my Bernie mask and Ted White sign my Final Chopper and I think they look great. They are both signed on the lower portion of the neck and could easily be covered up with a shirt if desired. I will be having three more pieces signed at Monster Mania as well.I never consider the resale option when I have a mask signed, I simply do it cause I like to have them signed. I'm assuming you're considering having another mask signed at MM but are worrying about its value depreciating. I say if this is the case and you have to ask what people think, don't have it signed.

It all comes down to location and preferance really, I agree with J that his Bernie is tastefully signed, If I bumped into Savini at MM I would probably get him to sign my AP Zombie across the lowest part of the neck. I love collecting autos and it'd be better than a photo but still out of sight if I wanted it to be.

I dont think a autograph will ever hurt the value of a mask, Like other people have said it just depends on where it is signed.

I for one am for it and have done it. I just wanted to get a feel for what everyone else thought. But one thing I know about myself is that I don't think i would ever buy a signed mask personally, only because i like to get the autograph myself.
