I also use a coating to keep this from happening where I dont want the solder. My method has changed constantly also. First I put a base coat before patina helps the patina have a more even coat, then buff then add color than buff, then final coating (top secret). Its not like the Pt1 you had the "promo" Its something new that will not come off. You see I have been doing this for yrs and I still change my methods. I am never happy. This is why I am still around I feel I still have new better things to offer all the time.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndI see... sounds like you're a lot like me. Never full satisfied. I hope you're not changing anything on your Part 4... you have that thing mastered. I bow before you. WinkI'm sure I'll figure it out eventually.. it's just a matter of finding the right order on how to do things so hopefully I'll be able to get something that I'm truly happy with and stick with it. Now if I could just find two-sided stainless steel that's mirrored without having to ship it in from Texas. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Sad\" border=\"0\" alt=\"sad.gif\" />

I fiddled with the coloring a bit more during my lunch break today and got a better medium brown color on a test piece of copper. I hope I can make a whole glove look like the piece I just made. I'll try to get it all done today after work.

The new color on the fingers definitely look very close to the promo pic you posted up. Top notch stuff, I can only imagine how sweet the Hero's gonna be. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" />

I'm really looking forward to the new Hero glove. I may use thinner copper and instead invest some money into getting thicker blades. The thicker copper I'm using now is nice but SO hard to work with. Thinner copper and heavier blades I think would be the best way to go. Unfortunately, the only place I can find dual-sided stainless steel is in Texas and costs about $200 just to ship it plus $500 for the sheet and then cutting costs... so I'd be looking at a hefty investment just for the new blades alone. But I want to make sure my templates are shaped and fit exactly how I want them before investing all that money in blades.

Well... so much for finishing up some gloves this evening. My wife comes home and dumps out my chemicals for aging my metals thinking they were something else so now I have to order all new stuff. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /> At a stand-still for the next few days. Lovely.

<b>BEAUTIFUL!</b> The shape, patina, and construction of all your metallic pieces is looking better and better with each new attempt. Keep evolving, cause I'll probably buy a glove from ya after my car insurance drops down to a reasonable rate. hehe. That said, your leather gloves are always very distracting to me. I guess that's because you don't age them very much. One of my favorite things about the original ANOES glove is the fact that the leather portion looked so damn old, nasty, worn, discolored, and stretched out - especially on the underside. It added some kind of disgusting "well-used tool" feeling to the whole thing, and I personally think that idea is *much* more messed up than the tool itself even existing... <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"mellow.gif\" /> My two cents!Cheers,Ryan

You can only do so much to age leather when you're using a brand new glove and selling them at affordable prices. This is how the underside of the glove looks:<img src=\"http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/knifegloves/Justin3.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />The glove in the film didn't appear to have much staining on areas other than the cut areas:<img src=\"http://nightmareonelmstreetfilms.com/image/nightmare2promo09.JPG\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />
