Looks pretty good. If you want to add some cool looking hands/gloves, just do a search of skeleton gloves and check out my posts. Yeah the chain is too overbearing and detracts from the rest of the costume. I had the same chain, and the smaller one even which was still too thick. The big one looks good on my life-sized "chained down" to the bottom of the lake, but a short big chain does not look as good. I got mine from Lowes, black, and weathered it good to look like a rusty real one. Take it from me, don't wear a real heavy chain it is not good for your neck.Especially if you wear the costume for 4-5 hours at a time like I do for parties/parades. The movie one was also actually plastic not real. Don't fret too much over 100% accuracy, it is always good to add your own touches. I also find that 100% accurate is not always good for wearing and won't last long, not to mention all the different lighting etc. I modeled mine off the movie, and the Cult Classics figure. Here is the chain I got, and it is perfect. I like it slightly longer so that it dangles some, and it is very light. I also bought a clasp to connect, but cut a slit in one of the links for fast removal. So far though your costume looks great! I recommend making a hood for long-term costuming, makes breathing and seeing MUCH easier. I just cut the face out of a Rubies mask and then repaint it to match my parts. My chain:

Thanks for the comments and tips, SirBrad! Yeah, before I registered on the board, I spent a lot of time simply reading through all the threads and followed your threads on this suit. Very nicely done! I really like all the additional skin parts showing through the rips and tears, especially the back.I'll be working on weathering the black plastic chain sometime this weekend, and planning to try and take some nice outdoor photos with a photographer so I don't have to worry about the timer and all that... As you mentioned in your threads, it's a real pain to take pics of yourself fully suited up, especially with the full mask and gloves on.Eventually, this will be on a beefed up mannequin to go with my life size Freddy (which I plan to replace that mannequin with a better pose.) When it's done and on the display, I think I'll use a metal chain for that, but as you mentioned, the longer the costume is worn, the more I'll be happy to have a lightweight plastic chain.

Cool man! I did the same thing, I read this entire forum for like a year before joining. Yeah it is REAL bitch to take pictures in full costume and a timer. Man if only I had a photographer and outdoors with a quality camera... Someday I might just show up in full attire at a studio lol. My lighting drowns out the details, but I used brown acrylics and some pewter grey for the chain. It matches the weathering on my costume perfectly. Heck even the medium sized plastic chain was too heavy for my neck after about an hour, also since I used to wear a velcro strap with the gore chest around my neck. That thing tore my neck up good, so I then decided enough was enough and made a vest out of the gore chest and backbone.I love how it turned out the first time, and saves about $300 from buying one off of someone. Did you also use Rubies parts? I may even do a 3rd remake for display only, that way I can really rip the crap out of the costume and not worry about it lasting for wearing. But I usually try and find the best of both worlds. Here is the big chain on my first ever life-sized part 7. Not sure if you seen it. Oh I forgot, welcome to the boards! Chain still is kinda big, but it looks better longer. I am going to get a longer chain like the one I have now, and recreate that scene with my new life-sized New Blood. Only problem with all of this costume creating, once you start you can't stop! OK back the dungeon now to work on my JGTH... <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" />

Thanks for the welcome! And yeah, I know what you mean about getting addicted to costuming. I've been really deep into Batman and superheroes lately, but glad to be back doing some Freddy and Jason stuff now too.I really like the display with a full chain hooked to the boulder! Excellent idea for a mannequin. That chain is really big! With my costume, everything was custom so no Rubies pieces. Checked with my friend who originally put this all together, and he said the chest and knees were sculpted by someone else who did a short limited run of blanks and then he painted them up. I mentioned to him that there's probably some interest around here in some screen accurate sculpts of all the body parts, so when he gets settled and back to work, he's thinking of sculpting up a new chest, back, arms, legs, etc...The chest I'm using also attached with velcro around the neck. Using the chest and back piece as a vest to counter-weight is a really good idea. From my Batman costuming, I'm working on an under harness to support the weight of the latex cape. (It's 20 lbs or more all supported by the front of the neck!) The harness combines all the chest armor pieces and undersuit with the cape and makes it easier to wear for longer stretches. My record in the '89 Keaton suit is 16 hours last Halloween doing appearances, then neighborhood patrol with my friend and his kids. What a toll that took, but so much fun, it's worth every minute!Anyway, here's a couple pics I just took of the chest piece and one of the legs. Both legs are the same sculpt, so I just did one photo. The pics kind of wash out the depth, but gives you an idea of what it looks like. Threw down the yard stick for size reference, but the numbers are a bit hard to read.

Yeah looks cool, I seen those before. Yeah it is a lot easier on you when you have straps on your shoulders as opposed to pulling you neck down. I am interested in any part 7 parts available, even though I love the ones I made. I want more durable hands/gloves that the paint won't chip off from the bending. I use acrylics, and even mixed with latex it still cracks if stressed. Especially in the wrist and elbow area. But the rest of the areas are fine as there is no bending or stressing the paint. The mod podge makes it brittle, a sacrifice I make for the wet look. Yeah I was going to spend like $100 on a foam boulder, but them I decided to just make my own. All I did was roll up a blanket in a dark grey sweatshirt, and it looked real. Movie magic and special fx at its best. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /> Yeah that chain is like 7 foot long, plus my mannequin was not bulked up back then. So it looks even bigger on it. I also placed green and blue light overhead to simulate being under water. It was a cool site. I change the bulbs to red for Freddy. I wanted to simulate the sideshow figure http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&a...m_medium=onlineI wish they were not so expensive back then, as I wanted to make a scene with an aquarium. But you are not supposed to emerge them in water, and I could not afford two. But man that would have been cool to have in a bubbling aquarium with blue and green lights over it. I did not know the chain was that big either, as they did not describe as being jumbo online. That is the price you pay for ordering without seeing the product sometimes. But it looked kinda cool. The smaller one would look even better. I still want that sideshow figure if I can ever find one now.I also want one of those SSN undermasks. I would cut out the eye and use black mesh at least, but then again usually you can't see my eyes with a Hockey Mask top which keeps the light out, as long as it is not shining in directly. Vision in both eyes is very important, especially in parades with vehicles all around you. I wore full undermasks for many years, but it always was a waste because I rarely took off the Hockey Mask. So now I only use hoods mostly, and I can breath and see better. The only way I would wear a full face undermask now is if I was carrying the Hockey Mask, or taking it off a lot. But ironically it is actually scarier with the Hockey Mask on, as the undermasks could never look as gruesome as someone's imagination of what lies beneath it.Plus it is Jason's signature piece, and no one would know who you are without the Hockey Mask! Trust me I know, very few know what Jason looks like without a Hockey Mask, they just think you are some zombie or something. So undermasks get wasted a lot, unless used for display. But there is no mistaking that bright Hockey Mask coming down the street at night, glowing in the dark under the lights. Man I can't for Halloween already.
