No offense, but is she smoking crack?! That sounds like the worst idea ever! Do you guys have a way of keeping constant communication with her? If you do, then just make sure that you contact her repetitively and make sure those kids are safe.

Can\'t get a Visa, a \'travler\', a \'friends\' pc...WOW..That just screams \'bait n disappear\' scenario...I feel for your family, Tom. I know this may sound extreme, but since you guys cannot convince her to use her head and think about this i might seriously consider another methond of stopping her from boarding that plane. i hate to say it but ie planting something in her bags etc so that security would find it and not allow her to board. Seriously the repercussions from that would be a hell of alot better than how this situation could very well end up. That\'s the only thing i can think of?...

I agree, you need to make a hard decision. I wouldnt let my sister get on that plane. Do what you have to do to keep her from doing it. I would even call the Law and let them come talk to her.

Hey buddy...my friend got duped the same way. He was in constant email chain with a "woman" from Russia who literally spent a year and a half of her/his life on the phone and computer conversing with him. She couldn\'t come to the U.S. because of a visa situation, but she asked him to fly to Russia. He was about to go until I told him he was plum nuts. If you search this type of story online, it\'s ripe with fraud.
I told him to hold off, and he didn\'t listen to me. He was about to make the flight - and magically- wham- she contacts him says that her mother had an emergency and was admitted to a hospital - which, she needed money to pay for . She asked him for $2000, instead of him coming to Russia - as she would obviously be too busy with her mother to attend to him.

He said no, and caught on.

He attempted to continue calling her and emailing her afterwards, to which, she never replied.

I honestly don\'t think your sister is in actual physical danger, but she might be taken for a pocketbook ride. Or perhaps merely an attempt to gain citizenship. The heart does funny things when its desperate for companionship or an ear to listen.

This sounds like a bad idea all around. It could be about money or wanting to gain citizenship or it could be about something else. Traveling to other countries isn\'t like it used to be. A lot of people/countries around the world don\'t like Americans or America. I hope somebody can talk some sense into your sister. Her 2 children should be her concern not some guy in India that she never met. The fact he was denied a Visa is a HUGE red flag. She can\'t even know for sure if he even tried. She can\'t even be sure that the guy she\'s been talking to is even the guy she is gonna meet. Best of luck, man. I hope everything turns out O.K. but the whole thing sounds screwy to me.
