    I am assuming it is either roma plastilina or monster makers. You should mention what one. The members here can suggest many methods of smoothing the clay.

    If Roma:
    I used 90% alcohol and a stencil brush, use 99% if you can find it. It will "melt" the clay and leave it very smooth. Also, prior to that, use rake tools to knock down any larger bumps.

    I prefer oil based. If you\'re having trouble smoothing you might want to look into a stronger solvent.

    it\'s harder to smooth than roma IMO
    and it is debatable what is the best solvent to smooth it with.

    I like monster makers clay but like gary said it\'s very hard to smooth out and gets annoying.

    I like chavant, I sampled soft in the store but I haven\'t really used any yet. I use medium but it gets a bit hard on the hands after a while. I\'ll probably be getting some soft next.

    www.fxwarehouseinc.com is where i get my roma and water based, they lady that runs it is very nice and her prices are pretty good too.
