When I first saw people buying and selling stuff on the internet (which was over 10 years ago) the very first item I looked for was a \'75 Kirk. It\'s great to see that, after all these years, the dream is still alive...you truly have found a needle in a haystack, man! And it couldn\'t have gone to a nicer guy and collector. Congrats man and don\'t ever part with it!

Primo M, the seller of the 75 Kirk just posted this at Myers.net. I wanted to share his story with all of you here.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So where do you begin when you don’t even realize that you’ve started something?

First, it’s truly hard to believe that so many others coveted something I owned. I guess being the owner of someone else’s “Holy Grail”, makes you appreciate it even more once you find out. I mean I knew I owned something special, but before all hell broke loose the day I put it on Ebay, I didn’t know how special, but I soon found out.

So guys, tell me, what got you hooked, I imagine I’m a lot older than most of you.

So, in 1978 when THE Movie was released I can still remember the 2 other guys that went with me to see this classic “Horror” flick. Little did I know at the time, that this movie would be the best true horror – scare the shit out you- movie.
I always liked horror and gory movies, Dawn of Dead, Friday the 13th , Evil Dead, there are a ton of those that I’ve seen, but this is still , Today, the BEST Damn FLICK EVER. Christ! I’m 45 and still love that movie as much now as I did then.

So, the 3 of us just sit there at the end of the movie, and stare at the screen with our mouths open, and like, that was so awesome and so freakin scary, and the Dude falls off the balcony after being shot … and is still alive. “Let’s stay watch it again”… So we did.

That’s how it started, but it wasn’t until the next year, that after I watched the movie again that I WANTED “The Mask”. So using whatever resources I could (No internet back then) I found out that the mask they used for the movie was a Capt Kirk from Star Trek. (No idea when it was made or really cared, I just wanted it) Cool, now all I have to do is find one. Here is the cool thing, I still remember, George and Company Costumes and masks was the only place to have the Capt. Kirk mask, I have no idea how popular Star Trek was back then, and didn’t care, but when I asked the sales person for the mask, he asked me if I was a TREKKIE, uh yeah right! Then I told him why I wanted and he immediately got the mask and handed me a make-up container of Clown White. That was if the Fall of 1979, so gentlemen and any ladies out there, I’ve had that mask in my possession for 26 years.
And starting Halloween of ’79, I’ve worn (Not realizing at the time, or even now, it would be a collectors item) that mask every single year.

From 1980 probably thru 1988 I won more Halloween contests because of that mask, and after that, Halloween 4 came out and then all I saw were those Cheap knock-offs. But I was still THE MAN.
A ton of people knew I had an Original so anytime there was a Halloween Movie release I got a call to hang out at the box office and either scare people or attract them, either way the mask and I were STARS.. yeah pretty funny.
The same went for Haunted houses in my area, I would always get a call from 2 or 3 of the places that were putting together haunted houses for Halloween and they all wanted me to show up. I WAS HALLOWEEN. That is what that mask has done for me, it was like My Alter-Ego, My Super-Hero. And once Halloween was over, we packed it up for another year, and I never thought twice about it. (I owned it, there was nothing to think about) That was my 15 minutes of fame for a couple of weeks a year.

I could tell you about all the individual stories, from hiding in Back seats, Trunks, Beds of trucks, closets, Sneaking behind movie goers at the theaters.. that shit is awesome when you literally scare people so badly that they CRY.. I know that’s a little morbid in a funny sorta way.

So, probably by the late 90’s until today, there were more than likely of few of you looking for this mask or a suitable replacement or look-a-like, you are the TRUE Halloween people. However, that stuff never ever crossed my mind, because I HAD THE HOLY GRAIL, there was no need for me to look any farther than MY Halloween box.
Even if I wasn’t at Haunted Houses or Halloween Parties or Movie Openings, my house was always decorated, Corpses, Monsters, Graveyard, Fog Machines, Strobe lights, and of course the sound track of Halloween in the background..(If I knew how to down load pics here I’d show a few photos of my house from year to year) If I wasn’t having fun away from home on Halloween, I was making my own scary fun at home. I love Halloween, it’s MY Christmas my wife tells me.

So, I’m sure you are wandering, WHY, Why sell it now?……good question…………. Maybe I should give you guys something to read tomorrow…
And thanks to Chad, this is a good story too.

Come On.. I’m getting my 15 minutes of fame for the last time… I gotta milk it…
Until tomorrow, and I know you guys wanna hear the Ebay, Chad, $2000 offer story.

Congrats Chad. I\'m teary eyed because of your joy. Smile It\'s great to see someone\'s dream come true. Smile I say get a temperature/humidity controlled case to put that in so it isn\'t effected by the environment. And I say keep it the way it is......perfect H2 style mask.
