We used to use UPS but found they damaged to much stuff, we switched to Fedex for our domestic packages. Fed is way better with faster service and better handling.

We use USPS for foriegn and some smaller domestic things. They are the only way to go foriegn IMO. We\'ve never truly lost anything with them but we do have stuff that is lost for months at a time and eiher arrives to the buyer or back to me at some random point.

USPS is the pimp way to go. I use it all the time and I\'ve yet to have anything bad happen on 80+ transactions.

Well, that was probably a customs issue. Unless the buyer had a fire arms import license, the guns would be seized.
I bet anything you send to Canada from there on was opened by customs....

For sure! I\'ve had over 200 transactions on eBay(90% through USPS) and no issues whatsoever!

I actually don\'t mind UPS at all, never had a problem with them except once, which is actually quite similiar to your problem. A few years back I bought a lowering kit for my car from Vancouver, which is all the way on the other side from where I live and it was shipped with UPS. Well due to the size of our town we don\'t have a UPS outlet here, but we have Purolator which is the same thing but with a different name and these guys handle all UPS packages for them. Due to some numbnuts working with UPS, who decided that since we don\'t have an outlet for UPS, that he would keep the package sitting in his warehouse for three months with me wondering where in gods name my lowering kit is. Turns out it was just sitting there waiting for me to come and pick it up (almost 500 km away from here, lol). So I called them up and gave them hell and sure enough, the next day it arrived. The good thing with a company like UPS is, that you are almost certain to either get your package, or if it is damaged, you get the full refund for it. If like in your case they are psychically not able to deliver a package due to whatever reason (like no UPS outlet for example) they try to use a different form of shipper to compensate the customer. That\'s why they outsource the shipping to another company, basically to do you a favour. Personally I think it is better that way than to just have your package dissappear. Of course it really sucks that you have to pay extra for your mask that you already paid for, but at least you know you will get it.
With USPS and of course Canada Post Air mail and regular mail I had stuff opened, stolen, damaged and lost. But when I used the (go figure) more expensive priority or expedited shipping methods, voila no delays, no losses, no problems.

Ive actuallynever had much bother getting stuff sent to Canada. I got my spfx mask in 5-7 days, I did pay a $50 duty fee but I was expecting more....
    sorry to hear about that.

Everything Jason- Just curious where abouts you are located?

As for the outsourcing, that\'s the problem. I 100% refuse to pay more to some company(Sameday Rightaway) to get my mask that was already paid for. If UPS had even contacted me to let me know they couldn\'t deliver it, I would have driven wherever to get it at the UPS outlet. But they don\'t even offer you a choice. And as for the refund thing you mentioned, I\'m still waiting on a refund for a parcel they lost last month. They delivered an empty shipping tube to the guy....
