Though I\'m a huge Halloween fan, my love for the movies stops at part 5, which, that one os more nostalgic to me than anything. After that they went way downhill IMO. Part 6 had its moments, H20 was \"ok\", and part 8 well, I don\'t even want to start...

So, in my mind, there hasn\'t been a real \"Michael Myers\" flick for a good 18 years (going back to part 4 whch I think was a decent sequel). Having said that, I think the series needs a swift kick in the balls if they are going to keep going with it, which, was always the plan it seems. And rather than have another piece of crap made just to have a \"Halloween\" movie in the theaters, I commend Malek Akkad for deciding to go a different direction on this one.

I\'ll take my chances with Rob Zombie. I don\'t necessarily want to see a remake or a prequel, but I do know he does solid work and that his heart is in the right place. That\'s enough to make me have an open mind about it.

I really don\'t get that uptight about remakes, even tho I love Halloween and its my favorite movie, I think a remake would be interesting. I don\'t really like the idea of Rob Zombie doing the remake, I really liked House of 1,000 Corpses, and I loved The Devil\'s Rejects but, if he makes Halloween like he did those two it will be seriously screwed up. IMO I think the people behind the When a Stranger Calls remake would do a much better job of making the film have a more original creepy John Carpenter feel to it I really enjoyed the WASC remake and the feel it gave off, I think RZ would try to make it all blood guts and crazy like HO1C and TDR.

In all fairness, Rob Zombie hasn\'t said how he is going to handle the story other than that he wants to make it scary again. It\'s a much different type of movie than House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil\'s Rejects...

I\'m not saying anything untilI start seeing teaser trailers next year Smile

The people behind the stanger calls remake!!!!!!!!!!

That movie was as lame as anything I\'ve seen in the last 5 years. I hope Zombie actually does this I think a real director with a vision is the only way to bring life back into the series.

Quote:I didn\'t like his answer when JK asked him if he was gonna keep Myers in the classic outfit. He kinda dodged the question.

    White Kirk Mask
    Dark green/blue/grey coveralls
    Reely Beeg Nife!!!

It\'s an easy costume, it\'s a classic, damn I hope he doesn\'t fuk it all up.

I thought thiswas a very relevant part of the interview. You know he\'s going to change up the mask. I think it will be a dramatic change that will disappoint the purists on board here. Just my guess.

And in that regard, when Kimmel asked Zombie who was going to play the role, how dumb of a question was that? Could Kimmel name one other man who donned the Shatner? Probably not. If Zombie goes with an actor opposed to a stuntman, I\'ll be disappointed.

I do like how RZ dates his films before the time of cell phones.
Those handy little gadgets have made horror less scary to me.

I think he will do a good job.
If he doesn\'t he won\'t be the first and they will just say we are going back to the roots with this next one and so on and again .
    Justin.

Well, lets not forget the copyright issues involved with using a mask that closely resembles the original. It\'s quite possible that they legally cannot reproduce a mask that is too close to a Shatner so we may have to settle for a different looking one. But, that\'s where Justin comes in...
