Thanks Snowman! I\'m enjoying this project, and hope the owner will be happy with the results. It\'s my first attempt so it\'s a trial and error kinda run..

So I switched to paper towel as a reinforcment for the latex. It absorbs alot more latex and is working very well. I have 4 layers of patching inside the neck.

I decided to work on the slit on the outside of the neck. This is a bit tricky. I want to make the slit disappear(it\'s solid inside, but visible from outside..) I tried running a small amount of latex in with my finger. Results are so-so... I\'m going to work on the appearance of the repair to remove the lines in the latex. Gotta match it to the rest of the mask...

Then I patched in a bit of the eye hole. Used the same method as the neck for the inside patch, then worked from the outside. Used paper towel soaked in latex to form the repair. Hard to see in the pic (flash washed out the detail) but it is a great start. Once dried up I can finish it off with a bit of latex work.

Got a couple other small spots to repair after I get all this straightened out.. Check back soon!

Did a bit of finish work on the eye repair, went over it with some dark paint so I could see how it looked. You can see the first layer of the patch in the above post, here it is now

Did the same on the neck, it\'s far from done I just added a bit of paint to see how close I\'m getting.. need alot more touch up still.. there were 2 holes punched at the top of the slit, they are still a bit low.. you can also see a bit of the repair on the ear.

I think it\'s looking good Dan... much better with no neck slit  . I\'m anxious to see what you do with the paint on this guy. I\'ll keep checking back for sure.

Spent a few more hours today touching up the repairs. Painted over them with a flesh color to make them easier to see.
Just about ready for the full paintjob.. The pics came out very yellow.. My lights suck!

Perhaps it is just the pics, but the patch of the neck slit looks uneven... the top half up to the holes looks like it needs filled in a little more perhaps (?).

I looked at some Melonhead pics and that dent on the back of the skull leads down into the neck. Here is another pic, again bad lighting..

Almost forgot the face pic. Here it has a full basecoat. You can\'t see the eye repair at all.
