Still deciding whether or not you should go see M. Night Shyamalans new movie the Happening!? Wondering if it is going to be as good as some of his previous films? Is there some sort of amazing twist that has to be seen in this movie? Well wonder no more. The only amazing thing about this flick is how many people actually came to see it! I've truly had high hopes for this film because Shyamalan is an amazing writer & director. I mean this is the same guy who did the Sixth Sense, Signs, as well as Unbreakable which in my opinion were all great films. With that being said though, this movie at some scenes is golden and at others (majority) seem pointless. The idea of what is happening in the film is just downright unbelievable and is even acknowledged in a part of the movie. My advice, is to stay home and save your money. Wait for your friend to rent it and then ask him to borrow it so you could watch it. I guarantee that you will be glad that you didn't spend the money to see it!

Yeah, i saw it earlier today and was rather disappointed..the acting was TOTAL shit. I love John Leguizamo and this script made him seem so shitty.. i mean come on, "shes in the town of Princeton"??? Who the HELL says the town of such and such? All in all, it was a very shitty script, but some parts WERE pretty good..a big letdown all in all..

I thought it was decent, the story is what I liked the most about it. Something new, but think that Mark Wahlberg sucked the most acting wise....and he is normally a good actor. I'll end up buying it.

I haven't seen it, but I just wanted to compliment you on your post title. I got a good laugh out of that.

After seeing the " Village " I vowed never to see any of that director's movies again.

We saw "The Happening" today and I thought it was pretty weak. I liked the music, but that was about it. The acting overall was not great and as Sinister said, Mark Wahlberg didn't seem as solid as he usually is. I thought some of the kill scenes were lame and laughable. I kept thinking "Maximum Overdrive" was done with more class than this flick, LOL. And don't get me wrong, "Maximum Overdrive" rocks. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> Also, my wife didn't really like "The Happening" at all and she usually digs Shyamalan's films. She's loves "The Sixth Sense," we both dug "Unbreakable" and we thought "The Village" was okay. Hopefully Shyamalan's next project is more on par with his other films.

Well, despite reading all the negative reviews, I went ahead and saw it anyway. I have to say you're exactly right, The Crappening would have been a more fitting title. I keep hoping that just one of his movies, besides The Sixth Sense, will measure up to the premise that it's built around, but they never do. It's a real shame to because he has some really interesting ideas.

I can never, and I mean NEVER, imagine Markie Mark saying "with whom!?" in a sentence.

I refused to go see this after the reviews I read. My wife wanted to go so badly and so did her friend... I just wouldn't.So we ended up watching The Strangers and The Hulk. Both fantastic movies that I highly recommend! My wife's friend ended up going to the Happening w/out us on Sunday and she said she LOVED IT! Brilliant... looks like it's all subjective to opinion. Considering M Night's last couple flicks were pretty lame, I can't see this being much better. He's very creative and original... but sometimes the story can get really corny and always leaves too much to be desired. The only films I've really enjoyed from him are Signs, The Sixth Sense, and Unbreakable.

Never bothered with any of his films apart from The sixth sense, and won't bother with this one either.
