Hey guys, I'm really into death, black, and slam metal and would like to learn how to read music and understand what I'm listening to (instrument wise) I mean obviously I know what the guitar, bass, and drums sound like but I want a more in depth understanding of whats being played, whats the best way to go about this? Are there any good sites that explain music theory, I tried google but it was pretty overwhelming. I'm not trying to learn how to play an istrument at this time, hope this makes sense, I know what breakdowns and blast beats are thats about it lol, I may have used the wrong term also by calling it music theory.
