An M-65 field jacket (get the type referred to as "long") seems like the easiest way to go, with the sleeves from a hunting Jacket (or the liner, if you really want the easy way out). Until Derek Mears released the info from the costuming department, mentioning a "wool jacket and and an H&M Jacket" frankensteined together, I was under the assumption that's what the thing was.. They're all over Ebay, but possibly also found in Army/Navy surplus stores. Some folks are also buying trenchcoats and cutting them down, using the hunting jacket sleeves.I considered using a padded shirt with the sleeves turned inside-out and an M-65 long field jacket with the sleeves torn out.. Hot-glued together at the shoulders. Not sure how that woulda' turned out though. Most of those plans were made before the movie came out and better pics became availible. I would imagine it's good enough though.

yessir.. M-65 Field Jacket. Officially, it's not what was actually used in the movie, but it's the closest thing readily availible. The actual primary jacket was an "H&M" jacket style that H&M no longer makes which appears to have been styled after an M-65 anyways.. well.. appears that way to ME at least.Just try to make sure it's long enough for you. It should cover your machete holster, which should be right about halfway down your thigh (right where your fingertips should be when your arms are at your sides. If it's too long, I assume it's posible to shorten it, but I guess that depends on your skills, etc.
