Nothing I can say will help your pain. I have been there and I would not wish it on my worst enemy. It is truely a terrible thing. Like a previous post stated, try to focus on anything positive you can. I know it is easier said then done but that is all you can do. You sound like a great person which reflects greatly on your Mom and her up bringing of you as a person. Please remain positive in all your actions as that is what I am sure your mother would want. My heart goes out to you my friend.

Been there homie, my moms lost to breast and bone cancer a few years ago. horrid disease cancer. (of ANY type) In time it gets easier, but the pain still hovers. Just go out there and accomplish all you can and make her proud of the man you have become.
