I think Part III is one of the better ones, one of the best Jasons as well. Contrary to what has been said Part 1 is also a great film.

Halloween looks cliche too, these days...but at the time there was no cliche...it STARTED it.That said, F13 films are all pretty similar. The first four, in particular, are quite formulaic, designed to jolt and entertain audiences. Once they realized what worked in the original, they didn't want to break the mold. After 25+ years of countless rip-offs and evolution in horror cinema, these early 80's films are all going to look tame by comparison. But you have to remember what they were like at the time of release.Even Universal's Frankenstein had people running from the theaters in fright...when nowadays you wouldn't think twice to let a 5 year old watch it. Still an amazing movie in every sense, but times change...<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndThat's actually a great point. I started watching NOES from when Part 3 came out so I still remember the early magic.

Part 3 is an awesome film, one of my fav's. I'm not really into Freddy all that much. I like the first two, 3 is alright but after that they get to comical for me. I actually dig the new nightmare though.

I think ANOES is an amazing film, Freddy's Revenge is also good and ANOES 3 is great as well. I never dug anything after it. I do think ANOES 1-3 is better than F13 1-3

I think overall part 4 is the most well crafted film of the series, because too many of the later ones started getting cheeky and self-referrential, and the earlier ones were subject to bad acting/script writing. The final chase from part 3 is superb-- worst beating Jason ever took and just from a spunky little brunette with some farm equipment! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"B)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"cool.gif\" />

It's ok, but it's a bit cliched as far horror movies go...Is it just me that thinks that?*Adee stands back and prepares for the onslaught of abuse!*Having said all that - I watched Drag Me To Hell on Friday and I haven't been that tense while watching a film since I saw Apocalypto.I think I prefer NOES because it has a little more imagination. Are all the F13th films the same? Just axe/machete/hook kills?<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndthe power of Christ compels you!<img src=\"http://breakingspells.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/the-exorcist-in-5-seconds.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />

With Part 4, you have to sort of acquaint the fact that it was 2 years in the making (not 1 like the rest 1-8) which probably aided in it being better produced.
