I know some people here customize their masks by installing a zipper along the cut to close the mask up. Can anyone who has done this and had success give me suggestions? What did you use to secure it? Latex, Glue, Sewing? I assume a plastic, light duty zipper will do the trick. Any tips are appreciated.

I\'m not 100% sure, but I think they\'re sewn in most of the time. If I was doing that to a mask, thats the way I\'d go.

i have done it in the past on several masks that i was using for costumes and i always just sewed the zipper in. Make sure you zipper is the proper length and always sew by hand. As long as the thread matches up to the color of the mask, there should be very minimal traces of it even being there...

Krazy Glue. works like a champ, just don\'t get any on the zippers teeth.

I sew them in (well i don\'t but Karen does) and i seal the thread with latex, then i seal inside with hot glue, overkill but works for me.

I have been using latex as an adhesive lately and it basically welds fabric and rubber together, so hopefully it will do the same thing for the zipper. I\'m not sure if I\'ll be able to get the sewing part done. Thanks again.

personally I\'d be reluctant to put any more holes in a mask then I had to. The krazy glue works really well, and going over that with latex works even better. Sewing as well almost seems like overkill.

When I was doing stuff for Aaron at DreamlandProd, all we used was krazy glue, no latex and no sewing. And the zippers never came out and he never got a complaint.

Thanks Ben, I think that\'s probably what I\'ll do. A buddy of mine is working on a LF costume and he did some custom work to his mask and used Super Glue and it is welded where he did his repairs.
