Finally!! Other than 'alcoholing' the sculpture down a bit more, my new H20 mask, called 'FATE' is pretty much ready to go under the plaster.This is an 'original' sculpture. I used A LOT of reference for this guy. The 'look' I basically went after, was the scene where Laurie and Michael reunite. The famous 'looking through the window' scene. That, and the scene where Mikey's tossing the tables in the lunch room, tryin' to find his sis. I really love the look of the mask in those scenes. It really captures, for me anyway, the look of the mask in the original HalloweeN. I'm not saying that it looks exactly the same, 'cause it doesn't. I just remember seeing 'H20' on opening night, and when those scenes flashed up on the big screen, the 'look' of the mask really reminded me of the mask from the original.I'm a massive fan of Justin Mabry's MANIAC. It's by no means accurate. But Justin knew that when he made it. He was going for the 'look' and 'feel' of the mask from H1. And IMO, and I know many others, he NAILED it.That's what I was aiming for when I sculpted this guy. With SSN releasing their 'Signature Series' H20, and of course Gary's SEVEN on the horizon (which, btw, looks like it's gonna kick ass), I figured I'd make mine as 'accurate' as possible first, then tweak it here and there, by observing different scenes from the film, to capture a certain 'look'.
