Blair Witch Anyone?

Not sure how many of you are fans of the Blair Witch Project. I really liked this movie when it came out and have been wanting to make a Burkittsville sign for a while. The entire sign is hand painted. It's hard to see in the pic but the outer edges are routered too. I'm not crazy about the purple color but I did model this after the real Burkittsville sign. This might be a little smaller than the actual sign. Here is the one I made. It's about 15" x 24". Notice the 1824 is closer to the word Burkittsville on this sign than the sign in the picture above.<img src=\"http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa278/CrypticCreations_pics/Cryptic%20props/Blair20Witch20Project20The202.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />Of course when I was all finished I found this pic on the web of the sign in a green color. I think this is an actual sign from Burkittsville as well. I might make one like this now that I found it. I heard that after the blair witch movie came out, the Burkittsville village signs kept getting stolen. The village replaced them for a while so I guess I'm not surprised to see a different variation with the signs color. I believe the village decided not to replace them anymore since they would just continue to be stolen. Plus the cost to replace them kept adding up so I don't think they even have signs up now. Could be light messing with your eyes on the color.The first and last pictures are the same sign. You can see the telephone pole and the church steeple in both pics.Pat

I actually live about 50 minutes away from Burkittsville, It is a pretty cool place to visit the last time I was there was about 5 years ago.
