Yes, definitely include the wooden display base in your master mold!

No! I'd rather just buy the bust and create my own display for it.

Hey again, everyone!I finally obtained all of my remaining mold supplies earlier today. After I got home from THAT veritable shopping spree, a friend of mine made a very valid point...I should definitely ask for opinions before I add any kind of display base to this bust, should I actually be able to make a decent mold and offer copies. So, here it is: Which do you, the potential buyers, like better? The bust with a molded-in display base, or the bust WITHOUT the display base entirely? I've attached some brand new images I took tonight - with and without the new display - for comparison. Please excuse the clear plastic packaging...Why unwrap something if I don't truly know that I'm going to use it? <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> Anyway, let me know your honest opinion. I'll use the results of this poll to gauge the action I should take during the molding process next weekend.<b>This is what the sculpture looks like with the wooden display base:</b><img src=\"http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h98/MoonlitDevil/P1220981.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h98/MoonlitDevil/P1220984.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h98/MoonlitDevil/P1220990.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h98/MoonlitDevil/P1220995.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><b>Here it is without the base:</b><img src=\"http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h98/MoonlitDevil/P1230001.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><b>........And here are two other random images that look totally AWESOME, regardless of the outcome:</b><img src=\"http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h98/MoonlitDevil/P1230010.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h98/MoonlitDevil/P1230019.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />Let me know which version you like best. If I get enough votes for the wooden display base, I'll make sure to include it in my silicone master mold. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" />Thanks for your time and cheers,Ryan

Tough one Ryan, i like the idea of the base as it will stop the sculpt falling on it's face and getting damaged, on the other hand i can see people preferring it how it is, if i were ordering one and i had the choice i would go with the base <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" />

It's always easier to add to a bust of something then it is to take away! With that being said, I say save yourself the trouble and mold it without the base. If someone wanted to add a base all they would have to do is glue it to the bust. Not only that but someone might want to have the base made out of wood so they can send it off to a guy like Crash for some custom wood engraving and staining. In the end it would be both easier for you and the customer if you did it without the base.

I believe it's somewhere around 1:3 scale, but Ryan can tell you for sure.Awesome work man! I prefer it w/out the base, but it looks great either way.BTW, did you get that base at Michaels? It looks like the same one I used for my box cover Hockey Mask replicas.... of course a bit smaller.

I think it looks great, personally I'd prefer without the base. Maybe seeing it painted I'd change my mind though
