Is it just me..or is this recession we are in hitting everyone really hard?? I see loads of masks, movie props and of course other stuff I want to buy, but at the moment it's just so hard to scrape any cash together for them!!! I just find I only have enough cash for the priority (boring) stuff in life!!!! It seems that most people on the forum are having to sell their treasured pieces purely to scrape by and keep a roof over their heads! It's a sorry state of affairs we are in! When is all this crap going to end?.... Or is it only going to get worse????? <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/msmile120.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":toxic:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"msmile120.gif\" />

It's going to get worse...real worse!!!...and it's not going to be with just money..things are going to be devastating and the last thing you will think about is masks and props...sorry for the bad news but i suggest putting your extra money into gold..it will be the only thing left with value.J

I completely agree man, work has been the slowest it's ever been. Not to sound like a Debbie downer, but I think things are going to get a lot worse, before they even get a little better.

I give thanks every day for my job. This is the first time in my life I've lived comfortably enough to be able to purchase masks, busts, and other cool stuff...However, the thought of losing this job has crossed my mind numerous times. With as many lay-offs as there have been all over this country (and in my company) in the last 2 years, it's perfectly feasible to be frightened concerning the security of your own. The only thing I can do in my situation is be faster, more efficient, and less expendable to the company in hopes that they will see my potential as a hard worker and not lose their use for me, ever. 'Take a few offerings that come my way and hope for the best...From a political standpoint, I've begun to dislike Obama greatly. What he stands to do with healthcare could be dangerous news for those of us who actually have diseases, hereditary illnesses, cancer, or other huge problems that need constant monitoring/treatment. I'm especially afraid for what my lady could have to go through down the road because of all this...Luckily, our state is now "investigating the possibility" of legalizing medical marijuana, so hopefully that will work out for a LOT of people. Cross your fingers for us!Cheers,Ryan

I am in a tight spot right now, but I think we collectively will be fine. Perhaps Health care was focused on too soon in Obama's Presidency, but it was needed. It will save money in the short and long term, and the fact is, America is way behind most of the rest of the developed world in terms of Health care. Just one recent statistic, we are the 47th country in the world in the number of people in our population that will make it to 60 years old. We are just ahead of Iran and way behind most of the rest of the western world! It is atrocious. Too many years of hard working, low paid citizens not being able to afford health care. The horrible healthcare the military has endured. The result is many don't get any preventative care, and so don't avoid major diseases and ailments, they otherwise would have, and that drains us far more than the preventative care will. The only reason we haven't done this sooner, is the giant drug companies have too much to lose, a multi trillion dollar business is at stake if we should start getting less ill! Just like oil. Shell will lose their record profits if we go electric with our cars. As for the Democrats being so awful spending money. The facts don't support that. The most over budgeted administrations in American history are all Republican, GW Bush, Reagan and Nixon. Bush being by far the worst, and he followed Clinton, who had one of the most balanced budgets ever, over his 8 years. Not to mention the stock market, [where if you are like me, a self employed artist, you likely have some investment since income does not come consistently form art work] is historically much better under a Democratic administration, see the best ever 8 year run under Clinton, and the second worst 8 years ever, under Bush. The problem now is the US economy has recovered much more quickly than Europe. Most of the bailouts have been paid nearly all back in the US, but not in Europe. We've had earnings and GDP numbers, that are 6 and 7 year highs over the last 4/5 months. This is reflected in the huge rise in the stock market over the last year. The stock market always foretells the economy, usually by about 6 months. If the Republican's would not stall reform, which they wanted when Bush started the bailouts, but now that Obama tries to do exactly what they wanted, they are stone walling, only in an effort to see him fail! I hope the transparency of their actions in not lost on voters. We were at the bottom of a deep hole 18 months ago, now we are on our way back up.

Thankfully, the worse the economy gets, the stronger my job gets. I'm a welfare case manager and my caseload is up 85% since 2007. But my pay hasn't moved an inch so I'm doing nearly twice the work and getting paid the same. Grateful but I can't help but feel overwhelmed.

I dont think its the end of the world yet but if obama and his lackies who are socialists and communists get there way then they will definately take us down...what I think is completely insane is that OUR PRESIDENT thinks this is the right road to take!!!!!..like he has never heard of STALIN...HITLER OR MOUSSILINI...WTF????....ladies and gents..OBAMA was born and bread and trained for where he is now and this has been a plan for a long long time!!!...since before clinton and I am no conspiracy theorist.I just know how to put the pieces together and its friggin' scary as hell!!!.I don't want to get too extreme but I never thought I might be lead to the showers by my own united states congress and president!!!!.J-
