One of the greatest guitar players of all time was taken from us on this day in 2004 and I just wanted everyone to remember him, if just for a moment.

RIP Dimebag. I remember I was in high school when Pantera hit the scene. we used to play a couple Pantera cover songs.

Hey, Mike do you post this memorial every year? I seem to remember this being re-posted every anniversary.

yep, i get up and the first thing i do, is put up a post in memory of my fav guitar player. i saw Damage Plan at the Machine Shop in Flint a few months before this happened. i saw Dime just hanging at the bar, partying with everyone, they played an awesome show that night. i got right up front and he was a foot away from me just jamming . sure glad i went. he was an awesome guy and an amazing guitar player.
thanks for posting in this thread and joining me in remembering him.

Let\'s not forget the tragedy of John Lennon. For music, BOTH of these tragedies are important for music, and music lovers. As much as Dimebag cud get forgotten, or passed over, Dimebag, wud be the first to say, \'Hey, I wudnt be here, if what came before me wasn\'t here\'. NIGHTOWL fans, I ask u to look into music that u didn\'t think was so cool at first, cuz YOU ALL cud be what takes it to another level. That\'s the what Dime did, and what makes good things possible. Go for it, my friend.
