I posted on the board some months ago about how excited I was at pre-ordering this baby...and it finally has arrived. It was delayed until an October release, but they then magically bumped up the release date to last week.

I\'ve never really been more excited for a prop. It stands over 3 feet tall, is foam-filled and just outstanding. When I pre-ordered, my biggest worry was the paint job, but I have been happily surprised. I have paid $300+ for masks in this hobby before and really wondered where all my money went to when I saw the final product. In a hobby that hugely condemns mass-produced items/masks, etc.... I tell you, NECA has really knocked this one out of the park. It even comes with a metal display stand. I would have paid $400+ for this prop, hands-down.

But I nabbed it for a mere $169, through Entertainment Earth. There\'s only 1000 of them on the planet, and the others on eBay are already selling in the range of $300. I imagine the price will skyrocket when the 1000 dry up.

it looks nice. I read a review with just the opposite views over on the RPF. Is it not poseable (sp?) at all? I almost ordered one from Entertainment Earth as well until I read a horror story involving having to email them copies of my DL and my CC...

    take care,
    Tommy

The prop is not poseable. But I find it interesting, as for some reason I never assumed it would be. This could stem from my collecting background which is always based on displaying, rather than wearing or playing. I never even considered it being movable, but mere displayable.

The RPF actually complained about the item being poured in latex (as in it would have a limited lifetime), but apparently they don\'t know any mask collectors? They claimed all latex items would disintegrate in 10 years. I have masks that are already over 20+ years old and they are flawless.

Even as many RPF\'ers said, can you really beat $169 for a fully-painted latex pull from the original film-used mold?

As for Entertainment Earth, I have ordered from them just like any other company (no emailing them copies of my DL nor CC) and have had nothing but success.

That thing is beyond awesome . May I ask on a sidenote where you got the Flat-top ? I\'d love to get me one of those if possible .

"The RPF actually complained about the item being poured in latex (as in it would have a limited lifetime"

So I am guessing that since those guys are so knowledgeable in this kind of stuff , they would want it to be poured in foam latex since that\'s how the puppets were made for the movie ? LOL somebody needs to inform them that latex lasts a whole lot longer than foam latex . I honestly wouldn\'t listen to what they have to say , good or bad because in the end it\'s up to you if you like it for your collection . If you are happy with it Stain , then i\'m glad for you :o)
