Did this just happen out of the blue? First thing to check is your device manager for any yellow !s. Right click \'my computer\'--propterties--hardware tab--device manager. You can also remove the audio devices from there, reboot, and let Windows detect/install the drivers again.

Check for the obvious stuff like cable not plugged in all the way/loose and your volume properties for a possible mute.

Do you have integrated sound or a sound card?

EDIT: I\'m off to bed...I\'ll help ya tomorrow morning if you\'re still having issues.

    Nite!

What type of card is it? Forget the software cd. Uninstall those drivers and reinstall new ones from their webpage. You\'ll have to go a different route if its onboard sound. When you right click My Computer, and click Manage, then Device Manager, Is there a RED X on the sound icon?

if you have a creative labs soundcard then you probably got creative audio diagnostics agent...run that and it will test speakers and the card for you.
