Dry Rot

I got this mask from another collector and I knew it was not in very good condition but was wondering if it would be worth saving. It has some dryrot on the brain part of the mask and under the chin. Could this be fixed or should I just let it sit until it just falls apart <img src=\"http://forums.NIGHTOWLpro.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":lol:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"laugh.gif\" />.Its the mask in the middle. Its a awesome mask and I would like to keep it.

That\'s a distortions mask right? I think it\'s called torn but i could be mistaken. Definitely worth saving though if you don\'t wanna drop the cash then it doesn\'t matter I guess.Ask justin..he\'s restored distortions masks before

Yeah its a distortions...And I would like to save it becasue I am just starting to collect these now.I will ask Justin and see what he thinks.

i think once dryrot sets in your screwed you add new latex it rots, unless you cut out the affected area and totally replace it easy with myers like a neck but a complex shaped/designed mask isnt easy ask someoneels i cant be certain- Aaron

Add new latex it rots? LOL...it\'s not contagious..that\'s not true at allGranted you want to remove the rotted area is much as possible...but the new latex added will last as long as any other latex.

Yeah, it's not that complicated actually...just a little TLC and it can be fixed up in a jiffy.
