OK, I'm trying to edit this footage I got today using Windows Movie Maker and every time I try to do anything with just one of the clips, the whole thing freezes and then crashes, every single time. I'm thinking it could be the video type, they are .AVI. Whenever I use like GIF pictures or download video clips online I never have a problem with Windows Movie Maker but for some reason clips off my video camera make it crash. Is there some kind of program I can convert the AVI files to something else? Any help would be appreciated.

Awesome program! Can convert to most video formats and vice versa ....http://www.avsmedia.com/Hopes this helps!Jason

That video thing you gave me is cool but it leaves it's logo dead smack center of the video. I searched for free video converters with no luck, just trial ones that convert 50% of the video and leave you with crappy quality. Anyone know of any GOOD free ones?
