Rising Prices At Usps?

I have shipped two items in the past couple of weeks and the costs surprised me twice.One package that I was expecting on paying $10/12, ended up costing $22. Another mask I just shipped to a fairly local area cost almost $12. Anyone else noticing any cost hikes?

Yeah I noticed this when I sent a small box to the west coast and had to pay almost $15.

I only noticed a price hike in international shipping but I haven't shipped anything domestically lately. The shitty thing about this is that the USPS is appealing to congress to get an extra day off, namely Tuesday. Prices therefore should be dropping. What a load of crap. I find myself becoming more and more disappointed in the USPS. But as Dougie said and I am in total agreement with, I refuse to use UPS, Fed Ex or DHL so I guess I will settle for the mediocrity that is the USPS until further disappoints encourage me to do otherwise.

Raising prices, forcing a huge number of people into early retirement, yet there is still always a huge line when I go to the post office. Capitalism at it's best!And the Tuesday off thing is laughable to me. I heard about that a while back and can't help but think of how the p.o. gets every holiday off, even the ones that no one celebrates. Must be tough...

They charge double now for Priority to the opposite coast, right? It sucks but I hear USPS is in alot of trouble. They are talking about only being open 5 days a week to cut costs and of course upping postage. My mother in law is a carrier and she said USPS are losing money rather than making it.

How would you like to stand at a counter all day making good money printing out shipping labels and putting a box on a rack! Hard work for sure, they deserve Tuesdays off!
