Hey, so I need your guys' help in finding out the background behind this mask. It is a Jesse Ventura Mask (presumably from around his gubernatorial campaign) as his mug looks pretty identical to his book cover "I Ain't Got Time to Bleed." I've loved Jesse since I was a kid and I now I love the guy as a political leader. Does anyone know anything about the maker of this mask? I know it's not horror, but I ask - considering that you guys are a field of experts when it comes to latex and mass production (insert joke here).I bought this guy on eBay and asked the seller about the background. He said that it was probably a mass-produced mask around the time of his election.<!--coloro:#FFFF00<!--/coloroI just don't believe this.<!--colorc<!--/colorcI want to believe this was made by an independent artist for a couple reasons.<!--coloro:#00FF00<!--/coloroFirst of all, mass-produced political masks are usually a cheaper plastic material and not a thick-latex pull.Second of all, the artistry is generally a little too good for a mere mass-produced mask, no?Third of all, the mask is uncut (what mass-produced masks sell uncut?)Fourth, there is no branding on the back neck or anywhere. Who is more likely to not put a branding: a mass production company or an independent artist?Lastly, the mask has very small eye holes. Don't mass-produced masks usually have larger eye holes for legal/safety reasons?<!--colorc<!--/colorc<!--sizeo:4<!--/sizeoCan anyone throw me a bone? I'm dying to know the background of this guy!By the way, Jesse Ventura for President 2012!!!<!--sizec<!--/sizec

Yeah, that's definitely not a mass produced piece, the quality is way to good. I'm sure you've posted this at the HMA as well?

Usually politically mass produced masks are cartoonyThat mask does not appear to be cartoony & has a nice likeness of Jessie Ventura. You just need to add some prop eyes to make it pop.
