There are two different membership levels of Xbox Live. Gold, and Silver memberships. You get the most with Gold. But there\'s not much difference between Gold, and Silver. It costs $49.99 a year. You\'ll need broadband to get on. You sign up right through Xbox. It does require a credit card. If you dont have a credit card, go a best buy etc. & buy yourself a Starter Kit. You can get a 3 month or 12 month gold pack. With the 3 month pack you get the membership, a headset, a $10 rebate, and 100 microsoft points. That will cost you $29.99 The 12 month gives you the membership, a headset, a $20 rebate, & 200 Microsoft points. That will cost you $59.99. The microsoft points are for downloading different skins, and themes for your dashboard, you can get games like Uno, billiards, pacman, joust, duckhunt, etc. You can download movies, tv shows with the microsoft points etc. Hope that helps.

You need to hook it up to your router to access Xbox Live via an eathernet cable.

You could hook it up with the wireless system but it is expensive and not too easy to figure out

Without hooking it up to you computer with the cable you cannot access live

Be sure to get a decent hdtv or you may as well be playing the original xbox. The difference is so vast between a 360 on hd and not, it is stunning.

Thanx again guys, i bought the 1 month gold card and a 1600 microsoft points card, since i still was kinda blank about what to do i called xbox support, i hooked the ethernet cabl into my computer but he said it needed in the wireless router, so i did but when it scanned it sill wouldnt complete for some reason it fxed the IP address problom but then failed the next thing abs or something???, anyway i was planningon getting the wirless network 360 thing, so i just looked into it and was suprised it was 100 smackers, so i dont think that will work so i dont know what to do, i doubt that a used one from gamestop will be any cheaper probobly ten bucks off, so i dont know what to do, BTW yeah man i got a HDTV, it was one heII of a suprise, i\'ll take pics if requested, any more info is greatly appreciated, Ty
