I've used latex in other special FX projects that was like a thick paste, which you obviously can't use for mask making. I've also used super thin latex which is used for making gloves or condoms, and you also couldnt make a mask with it because it would take forever to build a thickness (if it ever did at all)Somewhere in the middle is what you want. Thin enough to pour, thick enough to be practical. That's why RD-407 is an industry favorite.
