I know this is odd as I have only been here a short time, but I think I can get some unbiased adviseOk a little back storyLast year I was a part of three individuals who put together a group of costumers to do charity work (much like the 501st).This past September several issues came to a head and lead to one of the other two leaders of the group to be kicked out.Since then it has been a nightmare! I have been working with a local Radio station to do a toy drive. I found out today that the individual trouble maker has booked the same event. This causes a problem since there will be two of the same costumed characters there for the event. He is unwilling to compromise and split the event ( his group does six hours, my group does six hours) and has turned this event from one of helping those less fortunate into an ego fight. So my question is what would you do?

possibly take it to the Radio Station and explain the situation to them. If I were in your position, I would be the better man and ask them to join together for the event.take care,Tommy

I am awaiting further contact from the station. Unfortunately joining forces isn't an option since many members of my group were....treated poorly.... by the individual in question. One of my members was issued a C and D because this individual. It was found out on another board where he was bragging about turning the guy in. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"confused.gif\" /> honestly at this point I am close to throwing in the towel on this event.

Just do the event. If you have double the characters it's not really gonna' matter anyways. Just do what you've said you'd do for charity, and let the chips fall as they may. You might want to warn the event organizers about the situation, but that's about it. If you're seriously worried about double characters, avoid doing the one's you know he's doing, or get the organizers to pick who does what."joining" the two groups is exactly what's gonna' happen, in terms of you're both working for a common goal. As far as the organizers are concerned, that's basically what needs to happen. You aren't really "merging" you're just making sure that both groups can operate without running into each other.I assume you guys have skits you want to do.. get with the organizers and arrange when/where/how to do them. Explain that you understand there's a competing group there this year, and that you want to minimize the confusion by knowing how the organizers want everything to be handled, knowing that the groups won't work together as a single unit.Likely the organizers may decide to limit it to one group next year. If you guys are a no show, you're just letting down people you've made promises/commitments to, and that's not cool. Just remember that if they drop a group next year, it'll be the one that causes the biggest headaches, and/or is least willing to be a team player, and/or is the most uncooperative, or non-communicative, or just biatches the loudest.Play it cool and do your thing.

I say just do the event, forget about those clowns, this event should be bigger than the drama between everyone.
