99 Shatner Pics

I was talking to Darren today and he wanted to see some pics of my 99, so I snapped a few and uploaded em. I noticed that this mask has some tiny lip bumps on it in between the lips and the corner of the mouth... kinduv cool. Most of you know that some of the original 75 molds produced lip bumps in the corner of the mouth (as we\'ve all seen on the Hero mask). This is still my favorite Kirk mask to date next to the 75! Anyone else out there have one? Billy? Mike? I\'d love to see more of these as I know only a few are out there.

1998 was stamped on all the 99 Shatners. This was due to copyright issues that Don Post did not want to deal with. I believe they had to stop making the mask after 98 and tried to pull off the 99 as the same mask, although there is a clear difference between the two (for those who know their masks). It is common on many DP masks to see a stamp w/ an earlier date than when the mask was actually produced.

It wasn\'t \'some\' of the molds. There was one mold in particular that made the 3 lip bumps in the lower corner of the mouth. Anyone who has an original Kirk with these 3 lip bumps has a Kirk that came out of the same mold that the screen used H1 and H2 came out of.

And that\'s just fraggin cool.

I heard there were 2-3 molds that produced those lip bumps.... ah who knows. Chan Warren\'s Kirk is the only one I\'ve seen that had those distinctive bumps.
