Apparently you have never seen The Hills Have Eyes or Michael Berryman. Bob\'s sculpture is good, yea. But Eliot has made his career off of his likeness sculpts, and much like his others his Pluto is pretty much dead on.

Once again can no one offer their own opinion?
Yes I\'ve seen Hills and I\'m quite familiar with Michael Berryman. I just like Bob\'s better. Why is it whenever someone on this board says they prefer one thing over another there\'s always someone who questions your knowledge on the subject?

Offering your opinion is fine. I suppose my opinion is that if you don\'t atleast give credit where credit is due that Elliot did a very close Berryman likeness you must not know what Berryman looks like. lol.

Accuracy isn\'t an opinion, it\'s in fact the opposite, it means precision. If someone were to say that Elliot\'s sculpture was not as accurate they would be flat out wrong and it would of course be suitable for someone to point out they may not be as familiar with Berryman as they could be. If I were uneducated in mathematics and said "In my opinion 2 and 2 are 5." Then yes it is my opinion but its still not correct.

Either way bob, it\'s coming along nicely. The head shape is looking good and I\'m sure you\'ll do a good job on the likeness as it progresses.

When I read opinions like this I honestly think that human inteligence drops in average. Bob\'s looks great. I just stated that Elliot did an extremely accurate Pluto. Anyone who thinks it\'s not is speaking from a biased and uneducated point of view. Most respected mask makers can collaborate on the fact that Elliot\'s Pluto is the best one out there in the mask world

It\'s not about taking sides or kissing hiney. It\'s about objectively looking at a piece of artwork and deciding whether or not it is what it intends to be.

I mean, not to keep an argument going. But Elliot\'s take on Pluto is dead on, everyone is right about that. I dont see anyone denying it. However, I dont understand why it was brought up. I mean, just becuase its already been nailed by one artist doesnt mean no other should try.

If that were the case, nothing would ever get better. The fact that Justin has made at least 8 part 7 masks is a good example. Im sure each mask at its time was the best there was, but if he stopped just because others said nothing could be better we wouldnt have half the awesome masks from him we have today.

Elliot\'s Pluto is amazing for sure & there is no questioning that. Well here is a bit of an update under different lighting as well, starting to really soften some of the forms. He is a tough likeness at least for me & I give Elliot much respect.

    Take care.

I mentioned it for inspiration on the piece...just told him to go check it out. If I were doing a piece I would like to know of all other that have been done..it certainly helps!! I didn\'t mean that he should give up!!!!

I\'m sculpting a Jen from Dark Crystal right now and I don\'t think another replica head has been done but if it has I would be rushing around to check it out!!
