Wow I have to see this. I've been a Clint fan for more than 20 years now. I love "Every which way but Loose," "Escape from Alcatraz," "Dollars Trilogy," "Heartbreak Ridge," "Million Dollar Baby," "In The Line Of Fire," "Blood Work," "Pale Rider," etc etc, there are so many awesome Clint movies.

This was a good movie. But it was no Heartbreak Ridge or The Outlaw Josey Wales. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" />

Gran Torino is a great film, no doubt. Eastwood's role is perfect in the film. I found myself lol'ing at his facial expressions every time he got pissed off. Gotta love that trademark snarl he has goin on. But the acting in this movie is pretty horrible. I know there aren't any other big names in the movie... but there has got to be better talent out there. Toad (Tao) was by far the worst. What's up w/ the shifty eyes and the lame dialog w/ this guy? It was like C-level acting w/ him. And don't give me the excuse that he's Hmong and its their culture.

Like Warlock said Toad-Tao was just bad.

I will see this movie tonight. I absolutely loved the last one Eastwood directed (The Changeling) JMS wrote a fantastic script and Jolie, Malkovich and Jeffrey Donovan did a great job acting in it.

Another thing that really bugged me was how quickly everyone warmed up to the foul-mouthed racist after that one incident. I could understand the residents of the neighborhood being respectful and thankful, but do you really think that he and the kids would have become best buds overnight, after a lifelong barrage of ignorant, racist comments? The comments themselves just got so tiresome after a while. About thirty minutes into the movie, the initial shock value had long worn off and I felt like saying alright, we get it, you're a bigot, can we please move on? All in all, I thought that the movie had a good story, but the execution was borderline ridiculous at times.

Here's some more indepth criticizing...<span style=\'color:#000000;background:#000000\'> There were a few parts where the supporting actors realllllllly dropped the ball. When Clint locks toad in the basement... I did not buy toads reaction AT ALL. It was terrible and cringe worthy. And I know it's very picky but at the end when Clint goes to the barber and gets a shave in addition to his haircut. The barber says "You've never ever asked for a straight shave before"... ugh I hate shit like that... THEN getting fitted for a suit Clink says "I've never been fitted for a suit before"... I ABSOLUTELY DISPISE lines like this in movies. Lines like that in movies, to me, are saying; Your feeble mind lacks the capacity to remember that Walt is a froogle old man who would normally never do any of these things. One more thing this is essentially a reprisal of the role he played in Million Dollar Baby. I think he played it better the first time. Along with the other points mentioned in this thread are why I think this is not one of Clints best. I did think that the character Sue was plyed exceptionally well though.</span>. I did enjoy this movie for the most part and would probably watch it again. For anyone who hasn't seen it watch "The Wrestler" Another good movie. Mickey Rourke is perfect in this movie.

Dudes! I just watched this film last night and I loved every second of it! It has many funny moments in it. Eastwood is on top form. I will certainly buy the dvd when it comes out. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" />
