What Does Everyone Think Of The New Neca Mask?

Hey, was thinking about buying NECAS new Friday the 13th hockey mask, but i am not to thrilled with the paint job. Do you think it can be repainted and cheek snaps added to be more accurate? let me know your thoughts and if it is worth me trying before i spend the money.

anything can be repainted.I repainted my neca X.You just gotta sand it down a bit first.The cheek snaps can be glued on since they are really just for looks anyway.Not sure how decent the straps are, but you can always get a set of those from one of the Hockmakers.I guess no one has bought one and removed it otherwise we would have seen a post or 2.

Yeah, when I had my Neca X I just hit it with a base coat of white spray paint and went from there with no problems at all.

I actually bought the new NECA. I happen to really like it. I own foberglass and ABS hockey masks and nothing had even remotely come close to the thickness of this NECA. I really dig it for it's thickness. I also really wanted this one just because of the shadow box. I had no interest in wearing the damn thing, so I wanted one already pristinely mounted.The paint job is pretty cool with me, too. They vary a bit from mask to mask....but I tell you, I'm really just thrilled with the price. I bought it for a cool $100.Most other websites, including Ebay are selling them for $150-$200.

But the Hockey Mask is indeed wearable correct? You can take it off and wear it? Because I was considering picking one up.

Yeah, it looks like it can come off. (I haven't tried it.) As silly as it sounds, the only thing keeping the mask on display are some clear strong twist ties.The mask is really firmly in place and the twisties are virtually invisible, but it appears if you were to untie them, yeah, it'd be wearable. (Mind you the straps are not that great) But the mask, in my opinion, is awesome. I can't stress the thickness aspect enough. I'm not joking when I say this resin is 3/16" to 1/4" inch thick!

I remember when I had the Neca X it was one of the thickest hockey masks I've ever had it also felt like thick pottery only very sturdy.

if its truly cast off the original, you cant go wrong. just needs, a bit of work.I like it really.
