Have you thought about how you're going to bind them with the "lead edges" being so rough?I'd talk to him about a commission to get the design with one straight side edge intact, and double-sided. If you give him the idea, he might even just start doing it that way.Otherwise.. I hate to suggest a photocopy, but it might be your best best.
