    SPOILER
I remember it being an indian burial ground or something like that in the original not indians being tortured.

See, I remember the whole indian burial ground thing, but I don\'t remember anything about ketchum in the original. The only thing I remember about Ketchum was that was one of the lame excuses people gave for the property being "haunted" which I might add was myth-busted as well as the Indian burial ground horseshit. Ketchum never tortured any indians, he was thought to have been a warlock who fled from salem, and it was all fabricated just like all the rest of the Lutz\'s nonsense. The Amityville house is said to be built on an "Indian burial ground" or a cemetery, however a 1913 record of cemeteries in the area show no cemetery on the property, and the Montaukett tribe lived miles from the location of Amityville. The house is said to be built on the site of an Indian insane asylum (to the surprise of the Montaukett tribe who never knew their ancestors had insane asylums!) I dunno, the book is good the movies are not, and the story is false.

I just watched the original the other day again. There was pretty much only one time that they mentioned something with Indians, and when they did, it was about a burial ground they used to have. That\'s all that was stated. I personally like that idea to, leaving more to your imagination to think what might have happened there.

it was good i liked the original better tho, i liked how they added some backstory in the new one with the ketcham guy and how he tortured the indians. i thought it was a more jumpy movie like it had "quick" scares but i deff. think james brolin was a much better george lutz. hahahahah ryan ryenolds(a guy a girl and a pizza place) give me a break, i dont think he pulled of the "crazy" enough for me. but to each his own.

I am supposedly going to see this with my girlfriend Thursday. We\'ll see. This thread has made me curious to read the book. Also curious to see the extra disc in the box set, however I don\'t have enough interest in the movies to buy it.

I thought the movie was pretty cool... The Bathroom scene scared the crap outta me, and I don\'t get scared that often (I\'m sure most of you\'s guys here share that same sentiment...) I like Ryan Reynolds. I think he\'s a cool actor, and I enjoy watching his movies... Although I think he writes "Must show off upper body" into his contracts whenever he makes them... I thought it got pretty intense with the wood chopping scene... I work at a theater, and I went in and checked the movie (make sure kids aren\'t being loud, etc.) at that scene, and as soon as Lutz told the kid to hold the log, the entire audience let out a loud gasp, and I heard plenty of "OH HELL NO!!!"s from the audience... Overall, it was a fun movie, and it\'s about damn time we see a rated R horror movie...

I bought the boxset the day it came out. Those docs on the 4th disc are old because I\'d already seen them on the History Channel before, but trust me the haunting story is false. The Warrens are scam artists. Read Dr. Stephen Kaplan\'s book to get the real story.

I thought it was pretty good worth paying money to see.

    **SPOILER**

I thought it was pretty lame how a woman can lead her three young children up down and around on top of an extremely high roof in the rain in the dark and none of them were shitting their pants, I know I would be. That would scare me more than van wilder trying to kill me.
BUT STILL it was pretty good worth paying money to see.

I saw this last night. I thought it was very entertaining. I liked the Alice Cooper poster and t-shirt. Ketchum looked cool too.
