I know a couple of you play guitar, so I assume you can read tablature. I transcribed this last night off of H2 if anyones interested. It\'s in standard tuning and now, \'you too can play along with the movie!\'

    hope you dig it.

It\'s arranged in the classical style for solo guitar. I\'d suggest playing it with your fingers. It\'s really fun to play though. Enjoy.

I actually figured out the whole theme on guitar and piano without tab. It\'s pretty easy actually. It takes 2 guitars to play the whole theme though. One for the background bass and one for the "theme."

Fun as hell to jam out.

Yup I learned the theme awhile ago, those tabs are right also. Good Job.

yeah, that\'s kinda what I meant when I said it\'s arranged in the classical style. You don\'t need 2 guitars. One guitar can play both parts. <_<

the question is whether the guitarist can.

If I crank up the distortion I can play the "bass" and guitar at the same time. I just hit a power chord and let it ring while playing the theme.

I recorded the guitar + piano at the same time on a 4 track. It sounds fuckin sweet..

    uhm,.....yeah.

Anyway, that\'s the \'classical\' version and you can play it along with the movie on an acoustic and play the theme and the bass at the same time. The theme kinda blows without the bass notes giving it that truly creepy vibe. Plus you have contrary motion. The melody descends chromatically while the bassline ascends. Very cool.

Kids these days with thier distortion pedals. *hides my distortion pedal*

Why in my day we had to overdrive the amp and get REAL distortion, not this high fangled ka-luting digital signal processing she-at. Tube amps and a hell of alot of volume I tells ya.

Anyhow, I hope someone gets something out of it. A friend showed me an electric guitar transcription of the theme tonight off another website and it was just awful and wrong. I\'ll never understand why people arrange things for 2 guitars when 1 guitar can play all the parts just fine. It\'s almost like some people think it\'d be a shame for people to learn more about thier guitar and grow as players.

Kurt Cobain did 2 things for guitar I\'ve noticed. One good, one bad. On one hand he inspired alot of kids to pick the instrument up when they may never have done so, on the other hand, too many kids think all you gotta know how to do is play a power chord with tons of distortion and hit the strings really hard.

You can play the entire theme on one guitar with your right hand fingers and no distortion and it sounds great.

    *end of jokey rant* Smile

i think they don\'t understand what you mean by classical
power chords are necessary, but man, you can\'t do that forever. thats not real guitar playing.

I don\'t even own a distortion pedal anyway Tongue

It\'s just my crate amp overdriven as hell. I prefer having one guitar play "bass" note power chords and having another play the theme. If I put the reverb on my amp and play it at a mild volume it sounds scary as hell.

I just think it sounds better layered because well..it does to me.

hey that looks fun, I don\'t have a guitar anymore though. I used to love playing the basslines with my thumb while picking other notes with my fingers...wish I could try it out.
