This guy calls me today from a toll free number claiming he was from the US customs.
He asked if "I was aware that I had won the Canadian Lottery".
LOL I said "I don\'t remember entering any lottery."
He said "well, we have your winnings here it\'s a total sum of 85 thousand."
I was like alright! ( already thinking BULLSHIT)
"All you need to do is pay 1% of the winnings for the tax and processing fees." (bingo!)
He said his name was Russell Judd and gave me a number, added that I needed to wire transfer 850 bucks via Western Union to a guy named Mathiew Boffa in Montreal Canada.
He clarified that this was not the traditional spelling of "Matthew" I thought that was a nice touch
The best part? He asked me at least 4 times when I thought I would be able to take care of the transaction. (not very good at your craft are you?)
I said " well, I\'ll need to figure out where my local branch is..."
I also added "why don\'t you just deduct it from my winnings?"
"This doesn\'t work like that, I have paperwork to fill out here..."
(uhh...ooooook) <_<
I\'m almost tempted to go down there and send em 50 cents, and say "there I sent it, here\'s the transaction number" Just to hear their response...
Just thought I\'d warn you guys...their getting crazy in Montreal! I guess alot of people have fallen victim to these scams...I do feel pity for them, some people are just too trusting.
