Actually, latex has been a bit difficult to come by lately. FXWarehouse had some delays and got a little backed up on latex orders but I think all is well now. I was lucky to get what I did when I did. I tried to go thru Chemionics but even up to today the guy was jerking me around. I called FXW today and got some on the way. It will be here by the end of the week. The hurricane put a stall on shipping thru the lower parts of the US. Not everyone can order in bulk like some mask makers do. Buckets are more difficult to come by then 55 gallon drums Wink A lot of places dont sell in such small quantities.
But back to Aaron, yeah, he should have had some a long time ago...

Well in Aarons defense I saw him pour a mask a couple days ago and all the latex that he had went into it. The mold wasn\'t even half full. I know for a fact that the guy he\'s been trying to get a 5 gallon bucket of latex from, the same guy he\'s used for years, has kinda been jerking him around for months about when he can get Aaron the latex. First the guys moving, then he\'s settled in but it\'s some other BS reason why he can\'t get Aaron the latex. I know ya\'ll are frustrated, but I see Aaron getting really frustrated too. Especially cuz I think he already paid for the latex quite a while ago. I know Aaron only has to do a few more masks, maybe 4-6, to be done with all his orders, and then he doesn\'t want to do masks anymore. And I think since he\'s already paid for a bucket of latex, he doesn\'t want to go to monster makers or whereever and pay for another bucket, *shipping costs on a 5 gallon bucket full of heavy liquod latex has gotta suck* because he only has a few more masks that need to be done. I can see his point, he already paid alot for latex, why pay 2-3 times more then he already paid to order another bucket when he only needs enough latex to make a handful of masks. I know some or you are frustrated, but I know for a fact that Aaron has every intention of completing every one of his orders. He\'s a good guy and he does really outstanding paintjobs on masks. He\'s always done great work and had a fast turnaround time, I think that it\'s just coming to the end of DreamlandProd and he\'s trying to figure out how to get enough latex to finish the few masks he\'s gotta finish without paying hundreds more for latex.

Don\'t worry, worse comes to worse I\'ll buy the latex for myself and let him have enough to finish his orders. Big Grin

The stuff I read about some makers.... If my customers don\'t get there items within a day they are phone to me talking about tracking numbers and "why did you wait so long to ship it". I send stuff the same day or the day after and still get that, and I\'m not just talking about toys, I\'m talking about masks too and I don\'t even make them here. Someone else produces them and I have to get on the phone and find out why it took a day to get them out! If only I could fax merchandise. You guys have the patience of saints, I wish you were my customers. Jason

That\'s because our culture is one of instant gratification. For the most part we have no patience for anything. Think about it how pissed off do most people get if they have to wait five minutes for their McGriddles. The constant complaining and hounding is the bain of all mask makers. Literally a week after they put in the order mask makers are already getting requests for updates. Alot of it is kids (not derogitory) using their parents cards to buy stuff and then the parents being like you got ripped off or something because of the parents natural distrust of internet purchases. The rest of it is the instant gratification I talked about earlier I swear the nation is plagued by huge amounts of ADD.

On another note Aaron should get in touch with his customers and let them know the deal to at least explain whats going on. He\'s not obligated to give anybody a refund as long as he intends to make their masks.

You know what Indica X... I think your right. I\'m currently a customer waiting for a mask from a Night Owl Forum member, and I feel like I\'m guilty of wanting my stuff asap. But I\'m not being rude about it, I\'m just excited to get the mask because my Haunted House is riding on it. I think communication is the key in any deal. And maybe people like myself should be alittle more understanding when it comes to recieving our masks. I just expect things to be on time, when I\'m told they will be. If someone is being shady about a deal thats another thing. But for those honest people out there who do this stuff, and spend numerous hours on each masks I applaud you! Quality should always exceed quantity. If I wanted a Rubies mask I could have drove to a Halloween store and bought one. But instead I forked over the cash to get a quality mask, that takes a long time to make. Because that\'s what I wanted.

From what I\'ve seen of the replica/mask makers, there\'s tons of them out there, and only a couple are rip-off artists. And they\'re usually drug through the mud fast enough that people find out quickly who to order from and who not to order from.

Plus alot of people think of Makers as doing this as a full time job web business. They forget that alot of these guys also work 40 (or 60 in my case) hours a week at thier \'normal\' job, and do these things as a hobby. You gotta remember, these guys are \'artists\' and not businessmen. Alot of time in the \'real\' world, if you commision an artist, especially a busy one, to make you a painting, you do have to wait months or a year to get it. I\'m not defending the Makers or the Customers, I\'m just saying people do/make this stuff out of love for the hobby. And from what I\'ve seen in the past 3-4 years, if anything kills that artists love for making the stuff, it\'s usually angry whining customers. I know people that have quite doing what they do purely because they couldn\'t take the e.mails anymore. It sucked the joy right out of what they were doing and trying to share.

Well communication is the key to it also.Just cause you dont have latex doesnt mean you cant contact someone and let them know whats going on.There are tons of mask makers outt here that get mask out when they sale they will.Way i see it yes this is a hobby, but if you are selling masks , you are a buiseness man.Not taking shots at anyone or defending anyone, but over 6 months for a mask is realy just too long, hobby or not.The artist is payed to do it atleast he could do is keep updates, ecspecially when hes not making the mask for whatever reason.People spend there money for the stuff from these artist, the least they could do is show a little respect back to the customer. And as far as Whiny customers, if you have been waiting over 3 or 4 months for a mask you have the right be Whiny....................I have no right to say anythingin this since i am not waiting on anything from the artist but its my 2 cents anyway.

No you\'re absolutely right. The Artist should stay in contact with his customers and keep them informed of what\'s going on. That can make all the difference.

I\'m a whiny customer too, lol. I\'ve been waiting 19 months for my \'X\' Hockey Mask from \'you know who,\' Big Grin
