You no man I was just trying to help the guy out, sorry for my long run on sentence, honestly you really have some smart remark\'s don\'t ya. Now that you read my long run on sentence you can go try the tips I was trying to give to the guy who asked unlike your not so helpful rant about DO IT, DO IT, that was completley pointless. You no I took the time to give some advice, real advice & I get no respect, my sentence may have been long but I took the time to help him. Why post in a thread at all unless you have something good or informative to say, I don\'t get it the same way you don\'t get my long run on sentence.

If nobody posted in the forum unless they had something good or informative to say, then we wouldn\'t have a forum at all. I think we have all grown accustomed to pointing out run-on sentences since Mike joined the messageboard. anyway, lighten up, you have to expect stupid comments in a thread about putting your hand in a bucket of plaster and letting it dry.

i say do it the correct way not some homemade way thats how injurys occur and plaster gets hot fast so even if the guy said its too hot u stil lahve to wait to pull it off and some deep burns can occur so if u wanna try this i suggest u buy allt he PROPER materials to do so a few extra bucks is better than getting burned

I tried to mold my face with plaster when I was 15, someone knocked into the straws in my nostrils which of course hurt like a bitch the suprise made me open up my eyes and was greeted with some unset plaster. I spent the next hour or so getting plaster out my eyes with a Q-tip.

sorry i didnt explain some things i guess i should have. thanyou Bob for your answer my friend and some others are making an extremely low budget film and all i have lying around is house plater i need an exact mold of my friend nicks hand, i was goin to shave the hair off his hand and a coat of vaseline then dunk it in a white pvc pipe with one end sealed off w/ plexi glass. then have him dunk his hand in the house plaster then wait a minute. it wont be fully dry then yank his hand out. let it dry then fill it with red gelatin take it out when set and a coat of latex so we can hack it up. maybe you people dont know what i mean when i say low budget i mean incredulously low  just his hand and enough of his wrist for him to hold onto in a long sleeve shirt all the gore effects are so low budget you couldn\'t imagine, i dont even know where i could find alginate w/out having it shipped had alot of trouble with shipping BTW after the gelatin is set i will just cut the moud as far as possible w/ a pnuematic air grinder and then seperate it with a slotted screwdriver and a light tap from a ball peen hammer

If you weren\'t so high strung all the time Bob, you\'d probably recognize a joke when you see or read one.

Look up sarcasm next time you spot a dictionary.

The advice is given through experiance , we don\'t want to see you hurting yourself, if it came across as snooty or wise ass it was not meant that way.
You could just get a cheap latex hand of ebay for what you want to do, cost you less than buying stuff in, also there is a guy selling hand moulds cheap

Just fill it with gelatine, you should be able to get something similar locally, save a lot of messing about, if you do it the way you describe i don\'t think you are going to get anything useable, when you yank out the hand, most of the plaster will shift around and it will just be a mess.

damn i know what you mean those fake hands from like spencers or walmart but i want it so the hand is red gelatin then latex over to be more realistic as it will be red on the inside and a thinlayer of "flesh" which when hooked up to a syringe will look great the point of all of this is my friend will have his hand pinned to a chopping block, with a knife then he will tear it off like in friday part 4
