Hi everyone. I run a haunted attraction here in Northern, NJ, and we are using the "trick 'r treat" character on our hayride. The only problem is, the "offical" mask that came in, looks NOTHING like the reference photo listed on the net. When you receive it, it's literally just an empty cloth with 2 huge buttons sewn on and 2 big huge cuts in the center of the face for your eyes. It's AWEFUL!
I am looking to see if someone would like to be paid to make this mask for me. Here is a reference photo:
I saw someone make this on another forum, but I have no "sewing" skills. They used a balloon as the base, blew it up, covered it in paper machete, popped the balloon, then covered it with burlap and then finished it off with the buttons and the stitching. Not a terribly expensive project just time consuming I am sure. I would rather not go with the simplistic approach of paper machete as the base though as we are outdoors, and Im afraid that it might go "soft" in the humidity. But anyway, Im sure this project might put a few bucks in someone's pocket. If anyone is interested in making this for me, please let me know. I need it in my posession before October 1st.
I can give the artist the added benefit of giving them exposure at the haunt. THOUSANDS of people come through the haunt every weekend, and Im sure we can work out a way to direct people to you.
The mask should be done so that all the person has to do is put it on, and the "roundness" already exists within the mask itself. I can't find the "orange" pajamas, as i have looked EVERYWHERE (the only oraange set is a HUGE pair that is for a person 5 foot 10 or taller, so I might have to go with red but that's something I can deal with. It's the mask I can't do. I hope this is the right place to post this as I didn't feel the classifieds was the right place, as I am not looking to "buy" anything, I am looking to have this made from scratch. I doubt someone just has one of these lying around. The outside of the mask is burlap or a similar material to my knowledge. Other than that, I do not have enough experience to make this myself. I tried, but I couldnt even get an appropriate base to start off with. Thanks for your time. Please let me know
