The Thing Spiderhead Lifesize Prop Display Head Bust

Hey gang, i used to sell these finished displays up until about a year ago when the company that makes the kits stop producing them. Yes they are still listed on their site but no they do not have any and have not for at least a year. He told me if he ever makes anymore the price of the kit alone is going to go up alot so we talked and he is doing a final run for me, i'm purchasing the entire small run and selling these finished one at a time so heres your chance to get # 1 in the new 2010 run. The other great news is that the last run of kits were made a little fragile and this new run the heads will be hard sturdy vinyl with resin plastic legs, the old legs were almost like porcelain resin and were very fragile. I also plan to make a new base thats hidden in the hair to help support the legs and the head.

The one shown in the pic was the last one i made and it was painted using the pictures of the spiderhead with Rob Bottin that was made by henry alvarez after the original spiderhead was burned up in the movie. I really like how it turned out so i plan on making this one the same way. Don't miss out if your interested.
Details are as follows:
This is for the Spiderhead creature from John Carpenters "The Thing"
Its close to 2 feet tall and with the leg span about 3.5 feet in diameter. So its big!
The head is hard vinyl, the legs are good resin plastic, it originally came with a wig which i don't use.
My finished version has 2 pairs of glass eyes, hand laid hair instead of the wig, spikes added to the legs which are normally smooth, and a custom made base that used to be wood but now i am going to use a pipe set up that will be sturdy but hidden underneath the hair so it looks like this guy is just on the ground. The finished item will ship with the head, base, and all legs wrapped seperately - the legs can be popped in or glued in after you get them, they fit well and are easy to put in. This is the only proper way to ship it. I also color code the ends of the stalks of the legs to the holes in the head so you know easily which socket they are to go into.
The inside of the head where the post goes in will be signed/dated/numbered by me. Turn around time on this finished piece will be 4 weeks but definitely within 45 days (pay with paypal and your purchase is covered up to 45 days). These are a lot of work and take time to assemble, glue, paint, finish etc. I try to do my best on each one. So don't delay so i can get going on this and get it done and out asap. Since i am making this for you the buyer, you can make requests like different colors or gorier/bloodier etc. Contact me prior to buying please with requests.
I'll be listing more pieces soon including a Norris Head (one with the big teeth) that will go along great with this. Next one up after that will be the Norwegian and the Blair Monster hopefully all done and out by the end of the year.

If you want to pre-order a display i will take a $300 deposit and you can pay the $250 balance upon completion.
