well, at the end of the day, all of the controversy will help the movie make more money. I really wasn't aware of the book series until i saw a trailer for the filme some time back. I believe that anything out there that helps our kids get into reading is a great thing.....and the movie will hopefully get kids reading the books....Tommy

Personally I equate this to J.K. Rowling touching on homosexuality with Dumbledore recently. Why? Exactly as the 2nd fellow said...it's a children's book. Why touch on such a complicated issue with a children's book? I just don't understand it.p.s. Please no one take offense to this post. I have nothing against homosexuals, atheists, etc.

as a firm believer in GOD, i do see a problem with this film. i've heard alot, and read alot about this film, and there are definitely things that are disturbing. one example (besides all the ones mentioned in this post already) would be that the children in the film have spirits that follow them around, which they call demons. if you're thinking of letting your kids see this movie, you should def. do some research first. wise up people. just because it's a childrens film, doesn't mean it's a good film for children.
