Can anyone recommend any good books or DVDs that teach you how to make them? I am about intermediate status being self-taught over 25 years, but would love to read or watch some great DVDs on the subject. How to make zombie parts, and even how to use liquid latex and all the possibilities etc. Thanks.

I heard of the two books by Tom Savini, are they pretty good and usable today?

Those are still good books. There is also a book by Thurston James called the Prop builders and mold making handbook. Great read and shows how to make things on a budget.Pat

What are you looking to make? What's your skill level? Basic make up using old school materials it sounds like...no mold making and casting yet right? Or sculpting
I'm not European, I don't plan on being European. So who gives a crap if they're socialists? They could be facist anarchists, it still wouldn't change the fact that I don't own a car.

    DON'T EVER CHANGE!

I am also looking for material on mask making as well. But primarily looking to make parts from liquid latex, and props etc, such as chest pieces/spines and stuff. I am new to using liquid latex, and will be experimenting soon with it to make a new part 7 and 8 J-Man. But mostly want to build what I know, costumes and body pieces. For now I will just buy my masks and hockey masks, but would be interested in some material on how to sculpt and finish masks.
