I also believe that makers should not take on more than they can handle. You can't just take people's money and leave them hanging with nothing forever. I think 6-8 weeks should be the maximum time to wait for anyone, otherwise do not take orders until you can meet those times. People are paying good money for a product, not silence. I am also still interested in the VS glove, and waiting for a reply. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" />

Gummi, your glove is done and ships tomorrow. Dave you should have yours by now.Alrighty here goes. Most of the time, MOST, I try to give you a realistic deadline. Sometimes gloves and life do not cooperate though. So it took six weeks instead of 4, so I'm sorry. Some makers take 9 months to do one glove for you and some makers don't send gloves at all. I could sit here and tell everyone exactly what happens to make gloves go late, but my customers don't want excuses, they want gloves. Period. I go online about once a week these days, so I check my mail to see whats up but thats about it peeps. I work 6 days a week now at a 9-5, and try to work on gloves every night and still spend time with my wife and kids. Sometimes gloves take a backseat to my girls, but I do work steadily on them. and get them out in a month or two, not 9 months to a year. Not to mention you get what you pay for. The best gloves at a reasonable price. Now on to more specific ppl.Sir brad, I do have a lot less time for making, so instead of giving you an estimated wait time on a glove I chose to catch up on the orders I owed, so I didn't "take on more thabn I could handle." You want a 6-8 week gauranteed wait time for a glove? Okay, Dave had to wait a little longer for his versus deluxe because I wanted to redo 2 blades I wasn't happy with. He paid good money for his glove and deserves the best that I can do, not a rush job. Buy a glove from someone who is selling theres.I haven't deleted any emails in about 6 months, so I have no idea what knifegloves is talking about. I can't seem to find it. The only emails I have received from makers is asking me for blades, templates, ot where I get my supplies. The fact of the matter is this, I worked my ass off for years doing the research for my gloves, I have made great contacts and worked hard to get where I am. No one handed me anything. Also, don't put me in the same category as others that have taken ppl to the cleaners. To me it sounds like you are just trying to tear me down to make yourself look better. I have been a NIGHTOWL member for a long time here and NEVER ripped anyone off. So, for you newb's and what not, do your research on someone before passing judgement. You never know, the best glove you could have ever owned may have just passed you by. Later.- Mark

Nice to see you are still around. I still hope to get a VS glove soon. I don't mind the wait time, but it is the silence or lack communication that bothers me. By the way my statements were directed towards makers in general not you personally.

I would also like to point out that I would not care how long it took if I did not have to "pay first" then wait until later. The problem is that you only have so long to stay protected doing that, because of the "company's rules" not mine. Some makers allow you to pay after a product is done and have seen pictures, which is my favorite method. I then pay immediately. I also notice that I get my product very fast that way. Some makers may argue that they may not receive payment after item is made, which is the same as the buyer worrying about not receiving the item.So a median between the two needs to be found. Perhaps have the payment now and the other half when finished? The maker also has the advantage of reselling it somewhere else if the buyer does not come through, however the buyer is simply out of the money period. That is my only problem and worries. However I would gladly pay after something was made if promised and pics sent etc.

Mark i totally know where your coming from, trying to work full time and keep the family happy and customers is a tricky thing to juggle although i will say keeping people posted of no progress is better than no contact at all.You guys have no worries with mark, he has been around a while and has a good reputation <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> sirbrad, i see your point but as a maker there are certain things you have to pay for up front as in materials and so on, best thing to do is research the seller first and ask them for wait times, then compare them to what other guys have had to wait. There is a lot of trust put in us from customers but i see no problem if it is someone with a good reputation.Pay half now pay the rest when complete is not a bad idea but then what's to say the seller will ship the item <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Tongue\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /> Good topic of discussion but lets keep any past makers names out of it so as not to open cans of worms <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" />
