I love movies with a mystery. I love movies about uncertainty. I love movies with a ‘hidden’ meaning. But…What the hell did I watch and waste 1 hour and a half watching. I don’t know, it was like a re-make of Stephen King’s “Maximum Overdrive” minus the electrical aspect....................<b>Spoiler alert!</b><strike></strike>....................Trees and plants are “farting” gases to get back at us?

I enjoyed it, would be a really scary thing if it actually ever happened.

Shaymalan is one of my all-time favorite directors, I LOVE his vision and his art direction and attitude!.............That being said, this "film" was a Steaming Pile of buffalo CRAP!!!! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?I seriously walked out of this movie with the same horrified disappointment i did with Episode 1 and Crystal skull..(yet not as bad as "the wicker man" OYE!) the acting was sooo Damn bad i almost walked out, and i am NOT sensitive to bad acting....... Seriously this was a laughable at best. I DO NOT recommend this movie what so ever..............And HEED MY WARNING ABOUT "THE WICKER MAN"........you will surely gouge your eyes out after viewing this Cinnema Abomination !

This was one of the worst movies of the year by far. It's not often that I have to force myself to finish a movie, but I did just that with The Happening and Lady in the Water. After seeing The Sixth Sense I thought Shaymalan could do no wrong, but since then he's made one bomb after another. It's a shame to, because his ideas are very interesting, he just can't seem to make a decent movie out of those ideas. I also agree that the acting in The Happening was horrible. I've liked most of Mark Wahlberg's movies, but even he was pretty bad in this.

I take it that you didn't read my review of the film when it first came out! Would of saved the 1 hour 30 minutes of your life for sure.<a href=\"http://forums.NIGHTOWLpro.com/index.php?showtopic=26650&st=0&p=263621&#entry263621\" target=\"_blank\">Happening Review</a>

I think M. Night Shyamalan is becoming a bit cocky. The only movies he did that I enjoy would be 6th Sense and Signs. I remember when he was quoted years ago saying "I dont have to make my films R rated to be scary or suspencful".....Thats kind of funny to hear when a short while later his trailers say "M. Night Shyamalan's FIRST R rated film!"
