I'm a PC technician by day and a serial killer by night.Actually, I work on all-things computer/office related. And yes, that includes printers. Been doing it for about 5 years now (although it almost feels like I started yesterday).

Do you have to do a lot with Brother printers? Those are by far the worst that I've come across yet... probably because here at corporate, we have about 75% Brothers (no racial pun intended). The rest is HP, maybe a couple Lexmark. Some of the older HP printers from the 90s like the HP5si are still going strong.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndNO brothers are ruff! 95% of a printer calls are H.P. and yeap 5si's are strong! We actually see more of the 8100's and 8150's rather than the 5si's now.If you get a 50.1 fuser error and you changed the fuser and still getting the message its a low voltage power supply that needs changing. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" />4250's are sweet...4550 colors are the worst ever!

Every Brother printer we have gives us a replace toner or drum message weekly for the most part. They love making that money! And if any paper fiber builds up on the feed roller, you can forget about it printing until it's cleaned out. And those fibers build up on a weekly basis as well. So yeah, Brother sucks. Just fits our company budget right now. Speaking of changing the fuser oil, I have to go do that now... completely forgot! Also we have a couple 4250's and they have been tanks so far w/ routine maintenance.
