Well said Puck! I couldn't agree with you anymore. i think he wanted to give kids everything he didn't have as a kid. Which like you said is a little odd, but I think the poor guy was harmless

there were many people who i wanted to be when i was a little kid...there was batman, power ranger, the hulk and an endless list of idols i idolized...but the first person who caught my attention and who i wanted i be was Michael Jackson...i remember whenever "beat it" played on the radio or TV me and my cousin would get crazy and start singing and dancing imitating Michael Jackson.....he was my childhood hero and i wanted to be exactly like him...when i heard the news that he passed away today on the radio i completely froze <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Sad\" border=\"0\" alt=\"sad.gif\" /> <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Sad\" border=\"0\" alt=\"sad.gif\" /> ...i was hoping that everything was just a hoax but it turned out that it wasn't....my whole day was ruined and i completely held in my tears...losing Farrah Fawcett is already heartbreaking but losing two icons in one day is just so sad that not even words can explain...as im typing this right now im still completely shocked and in disbelief....michael jackson is a legend and at 50 years old he left too soon... <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Sad\" border=\"0\" alt=\"sad.gif\" /> <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Sad\" border=\"0\" alt=\"sad.gif\" /> ...rest in peace mr jackson you will be missed for many years to come....

[quote name='puckface' date='Jun 25 2009, 11:05 PM' post='318957']This will play out exactly the same as the whole Heath Ledger death. People will now claim they were SUCH big fans of Michael's, when in reality, they were the ones who agreed with the accusations against him. Call me naive, but I just don't think he did anything he was accused of. I believe he had a horrible childhood, and couldn't experience many of the things typical children should. Now that he had grown up, he had the opportunity to go back and be the kid he once wanted to be, and share it with other children. While in today's society, that's a bit odd, it's not against the law.Anyways, like I said before, the true fans were always behind him before this tragic incident. Wait until you see how many people begin praising him that never had a thing to say about him in the first place. I had always been a fan of his work, and have the CD's to prove it. Rest in peace Mr. Jackson, you paved the way for many who came after you. I hope my future children can one day come to respect you as much as I have. (I'd also like to ask that this not turn into a "he did it" debate, thanks_)If any of you haven't already heard it, check out "I'll be there acapella" by jackson 5. The sound of young Michael's voice solo is absolutely beautiful. I completely agree with with puckface here..Michael was abused and tormented and was ALWAYS working with his bros. never having time to be a child and as an adult he did want to share and do the things he didn't do as a kid.And I believe it was the main man himself,Jesus Christ whom stated "ye must be as little children to enter the kingdom of God".I think Michael did just that.

Michael was an icon to so many of us. I know he had a huge impact in my life as a kid growing up... I would always listen to the good stuff, as a matter of fact I'm playing "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" right now b/c that song always puts a smile on my face. And wow, Thriller. I saw it when I was 8 years old and will never forget how I saw that video and wanted to either be Michael or at least move like him. Yeah, that never happened.... ya gotta have a rare talent. I tend to look past all of the allegations b/c he was never actually convicted. Child Molestation is obviously a serious offense and it is all around us everywhere. It occurs with close well-knit family homes, in school environments, churches, you name it. It truly sickens me to no end and I know plenty of people who have been through it. But in the end, everyone is innocent until proven guilty. And well, Michael has done so much to brighten up the world, despite his rough childhood, surgeries, and other weird antics that is hard for many of us to accept that he would even consider touching a child that way. Anyway, I will remember him the way I want to remember him and that is the King of Pop. No one else will ever be like Michael Jackson, he is a legend and an inspiration to many.=C=
